Senior RF Design Engineer


Westell is seeking a Senior RF Design Engineer to join our growing RF product group in our Aurora, IL headquarters location, where Westell does both RF product design as well as the final assembly and test of all Westell RF products. This position will have great influence in ramping the production of all of Westell’s RF products as well as expanding the RF product lines. This position represents both the opportunity to design new RF products as well as be the primary technical liaison and subject matter expert to Westell manufacturing.

Responsibilities for this position include:
  • Provide technical design expertise and direction for all RF products
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise in the production of all Westell RF products
  • Evaluate existing designs for cost and quality improvements
  • Productize designs developed internally or externally (including generating bills of materials, part specifications, test specifications, schematics, etc.)
  • Generate technical proposals and whitepapers

Senior Test Engineer


The Senior Test Engineer position will provide critical support to the functional test areas of manufacturing. This role will work closely with several departments within the organization and suppliers to ensure product success. This position will be based in Aurora, IL.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop test plans, programs and systems for testing Westell products and provide guidance to Associate Test Engineers as necessary
  • Work with design engineering to resolve testability issues
  • Work with manufacturing and Returned Goods Manufacturing (RGM), providing support to the functional test areas and ensuring internal customer satisfaction
  • Assist in the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of test equipment and systems for manufacturing and RGM
  • Access, modify, and create procedures and work instructions
  • Provide manager with data and/or recommendations for facilitating project and capital budget planning
  • Work with equipment vendors to obtain information on equipment and contracts
  • Train users of functional test equipment as necessary

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Computer Science
  • Extensive RF testing background
  • Working knowledge of electronics theory and knowledge of languages used in test programming (C# and Visual Basic)
  • At least five years experience in a Test Engineering role
  • Prior experience troubleshooting issues with electronic devices

We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to join Westell’s Product Line Management team. This position will assume ownership and responsibility for all product vision, direction and management of the networking products. In this position, the successful candidate will manage the Profit and Loss (P & L) Statement for the product line, determine the product line strategy, and implement that strategy by defining product releases, architecting solutions, and leading the cross functional and organizational teams. This will include strategic and product planning, new product introduction, forecast and margin planning, identification of cost reduction options, determination of inventory levels, promotional planning, and end of life consolidation. This role will be stationed in Aurora, IL.

Some responsibilities for this position include the following:

  • Product line development and execution including financial plan and market pricing, product line direction focused on the business value to customers, business case development for the commercialization of the product line, required features and applications, and identification of opportunities to develop or acquire new products

Project Manager

Job Summary: Manages deployment projects where a staff of professionals, including but not limited to Installation Technicians, is under the direct control of the project manager. Responsible for systems development and delivery of key projects, leveraging both full time and contract employees in addition to third party vendors.

Responsibilities:

    • Point of contact on pre and post sales implementations that involve high-profile customers/projects
    • Provide customer and field feedback to Engineering and PLM.
  • Balances resource loading across territory, moving resources to achieve EF&I Service Delivery
    • Plans and ensures the capability of the group meets current and future business needs.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Two (2) or more years of experience working with wireless carriers/RBOC
  • Two (2) years project management experience

Senior RF Sales Engineer


We are seeking an experienced Senior RF Sales Engineer to join Westell’s sales team supporting products provided by both the Westell and Kentrox divisions. This position will provide senior level sales engineering expertise in support of company-wide sales initiatives. The role will be stationed in the Dallas / Oklahoma City / Albuquerque area and will require travel of up to 50%.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert regarding RF performance, installation, testing, and verification of tower and ground mounted amplifiers and SISO/MIMO DAS filter trays
  • Design network solutions for customer applications, including preparation of network topologies and related technical specifications
  • Assist sales personnel in presenting complex networking/switching solutions
  • Interface directly with customers to determine technical requirements and expectations
  • Interface with internal Engineering, Customer Service, Product Management, and other internal departments
  • Support complex IP network solutions that include LAN/WAN/NAT/PAT networks, routing statements, and firewalls
  • Develop and conduct technical product demonstrations and/or evaluations and document results
  • Present to large groups and provide product level training on complex network solutions
  • Prepare RFQs and respond to RFPs and RFIs

Qualifications:
  • BS degree in Engineering field or equivalent

  • Knowledgeable with performance test equipment that include mobile RF sweep and drive testing
